Meet Our Staff

Dr. Jamie Ross, DVM

I am a New Mexico native. I was born in Ruidoso, NM and grew up mostly in Clovis, NM. I obtained a degree in animal science from NMSU in 2004 and went on to veterinary school at Washington State University and graduated with my DVM in 2008. I joined East Lohman Veterinary Clinic shortly after graduation. In 2010, I got married. In 2012 I had my first daughter and purchased the practice from Dr. Brown at the end of that year. My second daughter was born in 2018. I am happily married and my family means the world to me. I grew up on a farm and have always had a plethora of pets so I came to veterinary medicine with a lot of personal experience. I always tell people that I became a vet just so I could afford my own pets. I love what I do and I love my practice, my employees and my clients and their pets. I work my hardest to provide the best care I can and will continue to do so for as long as I can.

Sylvia Torres, Veterinary Assistant

I am a New Mexico native. I graduated from NMSU in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and a minor in Chemistry. I rescued/adopted my first cat, whom I named Captain Ameowica in 2015. Later on, in 2020, I brought home a 13oz kitten with no intention of keeping but Captain Ameowica’s heart said otherwise, and thus, little Agent Peggy Carter was welcomed to our home. My hobbies include cooking (challenging myself and discovering new recipes), gaming online, Disneyland, traveling (pre-Covid), and learning new things like playing piano, fly fishing, and so on. Possibilities are endless!
